Become a Star in the NewsGator Collective Video Lounge

Calling all NewsGator advocates! We want to give you an outlet to share your stories, tips, and best practices long after the NewsGator Collective event has ended. So, we’re inviting you to come speak about your NewsGator experience in the Collective Video Lounge. Laura Farrelly, NewsGator's VP of Microsoft Alliance, will be on-hand to ask you questions about all things E2.0. The recorded material will eventually be posted on the Collective Community so that you can share what you recorded and continue to learn from your peers - long after you leave Denver.

The video lounge will be open on Wednesday, February 2nd, from 12:30 – 5:30pm and on Thursday, February 3rd, from 8:30am – 1:00pm. Come take a look -- even if you’re camera shy, you can still hear about what some of your peers are doing!

Due to Overwhelming Demand, the Ritz-Carlton Hotel is SOLD OUT!

We've registered more NewsGator customers than we originally anticipated, assuring us that this event is going to be extraordinary. That said, the original event hotel (The Ritz-Carlton, Denver) has sold out. But don't worry, we've coordinated with a neighboring hotel to make it both comfortable and easy for our guests to attend the Collective.

The Hotel Monaco, a beautiful property located about two-blocks from the Ritz-Carlton, Denver, has graciously agreed to provide us with a room block at a killer rate. To reserve your room, please visit their online reservations page.

We cannot express how excited we are to see all of you in a few short weeks! We are also working to finalize the event agenda and will be posting new information both on this blog and in the Collective community* - so be sure to check back often.

Thank you and see you in February!

A Collective Update

The Collective is less than three weeks away and we’re hard at work planning for it. As we finalize the agenda, we’d like to inform you of a few speaking sessions and activities happening at the event.

John Mancini, President of AIIM, will kick off the event speaking about the responsible implementation of social technology. His session will look at security, governance, findability and compliance through a social lens. Other sessions, led by NewsGator employees will cover important topics in the enterprise social computing space. Mike McGurkin, NewsGator’s Vice President of Services and Support will talk specifically about upgrading to SharePoint 2010, including the why, the how, and the best practices from a practical perspective. And, NewsGator’s Vice President of Products, Brian Kellner will be taking an in-depth look at Social Sites Mobile, focusing on strategy and direction. These are just a few examples of some of the great material we will be covering at our first-annual user group meeting.

We’ve been planning this event with you - our attendee - in mind. So, not only do we hope to share a wealth of knowledge with you, but we also want to provide you with an opportunity to collaborate with your peers. For example, we’ll be offering a facilitated speed networking session where you’ll be allowed to make lasting connections with other NewsGator users from around the world.

And lastly, we’ve included numerous customer speakers throughout the agenda. You’ll hear several client case studies presented by Fortune 500 companies working in financial services, health care, professional services, and the military.

To learn more about the sessions outlined above, or to get more information about the Collective agenda, please visit the Collective community*. We’re very excited about the event and hope you are too! If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contribute below.

Attention Attendees!

To kick-off the communications and interactivity of the 2011 NewsGator Collective, we would like to start an open conversation about what is important to you - our users. Your feedback is welcome. Please comment on this blog post with your answers to any or all of the questions below. And be sure to revisit this blog frequently to contribute your feedback and receive Collective updates.

1. Where do you see enterprise social computing and collaboration on your list of corporate initiatives for 2011 (e.g., at the top, not a high priority, still deciding, etc.)?

2. How have you started planning your corporate migration from SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2010, if you haven’t migrated already?

3. How have social mobile applications influenced your business? If they haven’t yet, do you anticipate them to have an impact in 2011?

4. When it comes to learning, do you prefer interactive sessions? A panel of industry experts? A keynote speaker from an industry analyst or thought leader? All of the above? Other methods?
